Create a species/character!
First topic message reminder :
Create a species...
Create a species...
- Spoiler:
- It can be sapient or a mere creature. It could have an influential back story, it could have lead a seemingly meaningless existence. It could have large gender/racial/cultural differences between itself and/or other species. Does it possess abilities beyond humans? Even if the "ability" wouldn't be considered desirable by humans...
Alternatively, you could reinvent a species already in RuneScape! Or, your spin on an existing methodical creature. Don't drastically contrast any existing lore, unless it really works. In RuneScape, I think the vampire could do with a revamp. Vampires changes dramatically from author to author but I think they are done very poorly in RuneScape (not to be confused with the Vampyre/Vyre). Yes, they are described as savages but that's quite common in vamp-fiction! The could still charismatic or honed killers.
- Spoiler:
- Got and idea for some wacky character? Perhaps the exact opposite; a family of nobles? Give them some history, some present, and possible some yet-to-come! You could try and put a spin on a real historical character. How would they fit into a game such as RuneScape?

(I'm on IE at college, so there's no spell checker... and I can't spell)
The Mogrul are a plant-like race. They are highly teritorial. A mature Mogrul will sow their seed once every couple of years. The process in which a young Mogrul develops is very similar to a sapling plant. They gather nutrients from the ground and slowly grow into a basic anthropod shape. The are very large, and during development the Mogrul will take on some of the earth around them - rocky sedemants on their skin, roots, other planets, etc. When fully developed they erupt from the ground. Whilst teritorial, they are very dossile. They won't go out of their way to 'cause trouble, but if you get in their way you will be in for a fight. Mogrul have several sensative nodes on their backs - these are the only true way to damage them.

1.0 – Overview
An elf is a member of a species indigenous to Ouran known for keen perception, grace and music, and is one of the longest lived of all the wight races on Gielinor. Elves are considered by most as technologically super-advanced – but some would argue that their "advance" is limited entirely to the capabilities of a natural resource found only on their home planet of Ouran, the crystal, and in terms of industrial technology the elves are, in fact, poor.
2.0 – Racial History
—— 2.1 – Ouran

2.0 – Racial History
—— 2.1 – Ouran
- Spoiler:
- The elves evolved on Ouran; the blue marble that has hung in our sky for as long as memory can remember. Ouran is rich in a natural resource known as the crystal – a plant. The crystal is very much alive, and connected amongst itself like one giant brain. Using their song the elves are able to shape the crystal and grow wondrous things.
- Spoiler:
- The elves have, in known history, made two voyages to Gielinor. The first was some five myriads ago and nigh-all remnants of it have fades into myth. There is much speculation that the gnomic people descended from these original elves – though there is little evidence to support this aside from superficial cultural and physical similarities.
The second voyage occurred in the past myriad. The high-elves, thirsty for knowledge, constructed a canon. Using the canon the elves fired Ouran’s seed into the cosmos – where it spread across the solar system. A single spore feel to Gielinor and from it grew the hometree.
Accounts state the seed fell onto unfertile ground where it remained dormant for several decades. Soon the seed was found and carried across Arandar to be planted beyond the reach of harmful eyes. When the hometree matured its song inspired Seren who delighted about it for years until the elves finally stepped through its trunk. In gratitude the elves honoured Seren as their tutelary deity here on Gielinor.
During the time of the Old Kingdom, the elves held most of Kandarin – sharing it only with the Gnomes to the south. Many ambassadors of the elven nation could be found about the globe as they sought to expand their influence and knowledge bank. However, when the Great War broke out the elves fled from the mainland into Isafdar.
Like all wight upon Gielinor; they forgot. The war was erased from memory and the elves were furious. Their hometree had been destroyed, and the Great Library sealed. Even their great goddess had seemingly vanished into memory and the tower of voices lay silent. The elves even blamed humanity and since have scarcely trusted them. Soon all the crystal began to recede; its connection to Ouran broken without the hometree.
At the beginning of the Modern Era the elves emerged from Arandar. Humanity had already begun recuperating and the elves knew that their stake on Gielinor would be decided now. The great Candarin Empire was established (of the Candarn Clan), and human relations rekindled. However, the Candarn Clan were blind to what was happening in Isafdar, and the Iorwerth Clan soon seized control. When the Candarin Empire finally crumbled, the elves returned home to tyranny.
With retrospect, the name Kandarin probably derived from the Candarn Clan.
- Spoiler:
- The elves claim to have made connection with one other world within our universe. Elves claim contact with said hometree was lost very quickly, and since the death of Gielinor’s hometree the elves here have been disconnect from the network – it’s unknown if Ouran’s seed has since made other connections, or whether connection with the aforementioned hometree has been re-established.
- Spoiler:
- Elves are, without exception, exceptionally long lived. Elves have several characterises in common. All have unusually acute sense and, as a general rule, are slim, athletic and graceful. Furthermore, they all have large pointed ears that tend to be greeted with admiration or mockery from other races. A most peculiar characteristic is their unusual eyebrows, which extend beyond their faces; resembling whiskers or antennae.
The elves themselves are offset into many sub-species that have distinct racial differences. These “tribes” originated on Ouran, but due to cultural differences evolved in distinctive directions to cater for environmental differences. The clans on Gielinor represent only four of the many races that exist on Ouran; the high-elves, the night-elves, the land-elves and the dark-elves. Evidence suggested a fifth race may have come to Gielinor with the above four, one with “webbed digits”, but have since vanished.
If you believe speculation that the gnomes are descendants of the first voyage, then there exist five definite sub-species of elf on Gielinor (although severe differences may leave gnomes as an actual standalone species).

Re: Create a species/character!
Upir, Vampire and Vampyrie, unrelated to the Vampyre.
Upir means monster, Vampire means blood-monster and Vampyrie means blood-chooser.
I'm doing something with them lol, just need to write this somewhere. XD
