¤ Morytania Achievement Diary ¤
First topic message reminder :
Hi all! This is the latest idea I've come up with, and I'm still working on it, but I want to know how you guys would feel about a Morytania Achievement Diary. I've also developed one, so you could see this as a beta version. If there's anything you'd like to see changed, please say so, and I'll see what I can do.
EDIT: List updated according to suggestions from both sites I've posted them on.

Re: ¤ Morytania Achievement Diary ¤
I used to be Pagan once ^^ Then I decided I don't believe in nuffin, so I went atheist ^^ And now I don't know what I am! All I know is that I believe in Reincarnation, simply because I can't imagine what it's like to be dead; it should look black, but you can't see, so you wouldn't notice black, but you're dead, so you wouldn't notice it not noticing, without knowing you're dead even though you know something's wrong, when you actually don't because you're a rotting corpse!

Re: ¤ Morytania Achievement Diary ¤
Pagan is atheism... isn't it? It's a life style, isn't it?
Black is just the absence of light - you can't see it, you can just recognise that you can't see it. Have you seen the Core? The guy who programmed the computer didn't teach it how to read vacuums/nothing - so the computer showed it as static. That's essentially the same principle.

Pagan is not atheism. It refers to a) polytheistic religions or b) all non-Abrahamists. if b then atheism is indeed a subset.

Re: ¤ Morytania Achievement Diary ¤
Ahhh, I didn't realise they actually had gods in the polytheism sense. I thought it was just spirits and stuff - like the cliche red indians and stuff. But okay, they are theist.
I prefer polytheist religions, within reason, not like Invinible's druid example.
Like Greek... where it was then-unexplained things.
I guess that's a good Deist definition of God actually. Take the Greek pantheon... Zeus, Hades, Helios, etc. God is just one of them, the Supreme Creator, the Architect. As science evolved and gods like Zeus fell due to their post no longer being required, God is one of few gods to survive. Others like Fate, Luck and Death are still pretty important, though. To a Deist, God isn't part of a monotheist religion... he's just the last surviving in a polytheist religion. An scapegoat definition for something we can't explain.

My World History textbook last year, and my Art History textbook this year LOVES talking about animism and paganism.
Animism is the belief of godlike spirits in things natural like trees and animals, or anything NONHUMAN.
Now, Paganism is not necessarily always polytheistic, but the defining factor of paganism is if the religion uses HUMAN representation for its deities. Polytheism can be polytheistic, and it is most always presented in that fashion.

Re: ¤ Morytania Achievement Diary ¤
PAGANISM IS NOT A RELIGION!
It is a term used by certain monotheists to refer to polytheistic religions. It is more of a "not my religion" term (like heretic)

Re: ¤ Morytania Achievement Diary ¤
excuse me... o.o But from what I know, you use the term "pagan" to describe a religion with its principle deity(ies) in human form.
Then why has Christianity been considered a pagan religion. Christianity is monotheistic of course, but Christians believe in a human-like god because the Christian God is displayed as Zeus from Greek Mythology.
The Roman and Greek religions were of course polytheistic and pagan, but so were the Celts, who also tended to be polytheists. Thus, giving the impression that a pagan religion is polytheist.

Re: ¤ Morytania Achievement Diary ¤
Pagan (generally) = Western, "traditional" polytheist religions.
Pagan (Christian-term) = Non-Abrahamic religions. Christians did their best to destroy them and thus adopted a lot of their concepts, symbols, etc.
However, when most people say pagan they mean Celtic/Nordic - although they are paganism-related religions.

Well hey. two years later, and look what shows up finally in the BTS!
Re: ¤ Morytania Achievement Diary ¤
Well, so far, with the Barge headed for the Island north of Morytania (for which I am claiming squatters rights), is currently on version 10.0, seeing as how previous models were built with major design flaws (1.0 through to 4.0) or just were subject to tragic accidents (5.0 through to 9.0). It is unlikely the ship is a top priority for the moment.
I've forgotten what I was going to say.

Re: ¤ Morytania Achievement Diary ¤
Yeah, Kudos Island, as it's been named, definently is not in much development right now. I'd spoken to a few Mods, who confirmed the pesky thing will be around the size of Karamja and will likely be themed around an overgrown and dangerous Jungle, but since nothing was in heavy developent outside of planning, almost anything could have happened to it now.

What? How come none of the mods have ever spoken to me?
