[P] The Overview: Pallis
First topic message reminder :
Actually, that's not 100% true. When I first came up with the idea, my memory of the Stone was false. I had it in my head that the raised section was only partial--covering a much less than half segment. However, being half-n-half is just as awesome.
The only issue that's been itching in the back of my mind is that I have no reason why landmass in the lower world formed - or rather why it formed as it did. Ah well.
My source of inspiration for the Upper World (starting from the begining, and all that); The Overview: Pallis
The base thread for discussion on Pallis.

Re: [P] The Overview: Pallis
*sigh*
If we, as developers, had the MEANS to do it(!!) all we'd have is a map right now. There, I think "means" only has one definition.
Haha, I don't mean skills like an in-game skill you level up. I don't mean abilities like a magic power. I mean the technical skills to create this.

Re: [P] The Overview: Pallis
Ohhh now I get it XD.. sorry tired thinking too much REAL skills REAL abilities to CREATE this I would want to go a computer course of somekind maybe learning animation and stuff... but havent find that sort of schools here, want to go to England really, try to find a good "game-developing"-school or university.. maybe...
but now I got it, when there's two types of skills. in-game and IRL-skills (as well as abilities) but anyway...

Re: [P] The Overview: Pallis
Haha, studying abroad is actually good value in the EU. You got paid royally. It's just the fuss of being abroad...
I'm in Plymouth doing Games Development next year. Learning some AI, graphics engines, etc. I'm suppose to be using things like OpenGL and DirectX in the final year, so I'm not sure if I'm suppose to be learning the language at any point before then...
I did know the name of the engine I'd be using next year... but I've forgotten. It's an open source engine of some kind that's very popular with indie games developers... so I should have some cool demos by the end of next year, and some RuneScape would-bes to accompany it if I find the time.

Re: [P] The Overview: Pallis
Servers are really easy to make, I've made them before for games like Team Fortress 2. The only reason people pay for them is to have dedicated, increased speeds, 24/7 (assuming nothing goes wrong) server space - when a person makes it themselves, the server eats up their speed and they have to leave their computer on in order for user's to connect whenever.
Re: [P] The Overview: Pallis
Well I can make a wow server? but that will not help us right now I think Dusk?
we can A make our own game, on a unique way (as Minecraft for example, no games like that before I think that have been made this far) or we can B do this so perfect that noone can come up with any critic or neg. over this so we can get support bla bla bla and get it to be a Runescape-3 additional of some sort. both would be awesome...
I'm study history, of all kinds, so im all in for the races, and stuff.. 3mpty, just get through the Game Developing courses and we can finally see light in the other end. Keep up the good work mate (:
