[P] The Forerunner
The Forerunner
Discussion on the Forerunner, the Creators, the Builders; those who existed before the Dwallow, whose disappearance is a mystery but whose remains is a way of life.
I came across this image whilst browsing games and thought it'd be amazing if there were a couple of cities that have fallen into disarray, would provide excellent scenary and a different style of location for training.
Dark's "The Mouths of the Creators" refine clouds and transport the water via aqueducts. But yeah, discussion.

Re: [P] The Forerunner
I was thinking Portal 2 scenario, when you mentioned the Forerunners (Check out the trailer )
EDIT: I remembered it differently, nevermind.
EDITEDIT: Portal 2 does actually look quite nice, maybe a 'little' less technological

Re: [P] The Forerunner
Portal 2 is similar, I guess. 'cept that it's indoors, and it's rebuilding itself (which, may I add, looks shweet!).
Re: [P] The Forerunner
I support the ancient structure thing, it seems to be a really awesome idea.
Is these structures like futurish or "Atlantean" as seen from StarGate-Series..
you know like, a godpeople who created the pumpstructure that gave the barrensland forest and living nature.. then they Ascended and they left the building left in Gielinor.
Now we have founded it.. or.. idk ;D

Re: [P] The Forerunner
It's unknown why the Forerunner left, but I'm not keen on the idea that they ascended.
Re: [P] The Forerunner
somehow they left.. or were lost.

Re: [P] The Forerunner
I think the same reason they disappeared should be an impending questline, it's due to happen again or something like that.
Re: [P] The Forerunner
in the beginning its just a legend, but the legends says it will happens again. Something or someone will return and then something happens..
a good questline for future design.

Re: [P] The Forerunner
sry boss.. just made that for fun ;D... the forerunners.. hmm... they got the ancient device built.. some thousands of years ago.. in the beginning..
then there was nothing left.. but the device.. then the dwallows came to life and settled down around the lake of Barrenlands, and short after the Morguls from the walley of Morgù-Ka and settled down around the mountains of Morgù-Ka ().
always a suggestion.. just imaging the history of this

Re: [P] The Forerunner
You've said "walley" twice now (I always overlook the first time in case it's a genuine typo); it's spelt "valley".
Maybe we shouldn't try and come up with a reason as to how species got there, and I think it should just be accepted they are. It gets too complicated; since there probably isn't enough time for them to have evolved, but we don't really want to create another Guthix. Leaving it ambiguous avoids this.

Re: [P] The Forerunner
I reckon their language would be the same as dwallish, purely because the dwallows would have adopted it. So Ancient Dwallish? Since language does evolve over time. For all intensive purposes, it's English.
Also, the forerunner are long extinct (or thought extinct, most likely though). I'm not sure their names are important. They aren't gods or anything. It'd be like if all humans just decided to leave, them someone else came along and just moved in...

Re: [P] The Forerunner
I just thought of having a library around the ancient device. A library that was recently found by the Dwallow and including history books and scrolls written by some of the "priests" of the Forerunners (or whoever wrote it down). (with library I thought of Alexandria and the lost Library of Alexander the Great)
