Homecoming Apocalypse Discussion - Page 12 Empty Homecoming Apocalypse Discussion

Post by The Empty Lord Wed Jul 01, 2009 9:00 am

First topic message reminder :

Homecoming Apocalypse
Many lives were spent during the war erasing Him from memory; desecrating His name and burning the remnants.

Stories from the time before Guthix speak of an Age of Darkness and that a matrix that was constructed to conceal the shadows; to imprison them and the filth that dwelt within. Though the matrix has remained sealed since, the feuding lords would not risk otherwise. And so efforts were made to conceal the matrix and prevent the empty rising. Keys scattered. Locks disguised. The shadows would forever be His prison.

But more than the likes of the light dwell within the unblinking darkness.

Each guardian within the quest is to be treated as a miniquest in itself, not merely a task within a quest. Storylines and such may be miniquest specific. Such as Malak, the creature you fight my not actually be the Guardian; combat isn't even necessary, as with Raunton.

It's a shame. I liked the depth I gave Zamorak's character in what he did in that fortress. Tongue

Boooo.

Also, the only other important one I can think of is Castle Drakan. All the other beacons have no significant locations and so they can be moved wherever.

Well, Desert we already know. Marsh is Castle Drakan. Mountain was Iban's Fortress (beneath GWD). Ocean and Jungle weren't specific.

I suppose the Jungle Beacon could be in the Kharazi Jungle, or in its dungeon.

Ocean could be underwater in the sea north of the Wilderness.

What did Zammy do anyway?

Faked the God Sword so has to have a battlefield permanently defend the beacon. Smile

Hehe. Saradomin manipulates people through words, so I thought it might be interesting if Zamorak could manipulate people through actions. So he had the Godsword forged and then had his army attempt to claim it knowing they would be met by counter-measures. The sword is still real, but his army was never meant to succeed in obtaining it. The battle would not only defend the beacon, but the weapon itself would distract outsiders.

He promised Hallowland to Drakan in exchange for his services in the downfall of Cookies, Hallowvale including the March Beacon. Drakan would later convert it into a fortress, and so long as this incarnation of darkness survives, Zamorak was sure the beacon would be safe.

I think we should start the quest with a boss fight against the a weakened form the four bosses from the previous quest, all at the same time.

How about, the first fight is Zuriel? This section would be officially released - as in, declared. An asterisks placed after Desert Treasure, with the Fifth Diamond miniquest. Then, upon inserting the fifth key you'll be required to redefeat all-five guardians - thus, largely combat orientated. Smile

Although, there's should probably be something more poetic about this as it would be something that we'll have to do with each beacon - and you can't have things like Colossus or Yantos just appearance. Perhaps an incarnation of the element - thus, a manifest of Shadow, a manifest of Smoke, a manifest of Blood and a manifest of Ice; with the manifest of Miasmic being the central boss (similar to how Nex works, I guess). These could be similar fights and appearances to the guardians, but don't have to be? Smile

The Lock/Golem of the Desert? *shrugs*

Can we summarize everything on Neurosha, and do some planning for Collosus (who would have to be renamed)?

Frene? I thought he was a huge ent in another realm, which we fought on top of to obtain the diamond. Which is similar to the figth against Mountain.

Colossus was written first. Wink

Also, what part of "Frene" means he's not a huge ent in another wrong which we fight to get atop? Tongue

Well, the Marhajah (?) like this domain of destruction because death brings new life, according to Enkarra. So, maybe the Colossus could be a boss with a high regeneration rate. Furthermore, he could be based off of Evil Trees, making him more of a 'skiller' boss. The climbing has already been used.

Furthermore, the other Curses should involve the 'Movement, Debuff, Sap, and DoT' pattern. Miasmic debuffs your attack speed.
Facade: ???
Occlusive: Your vision is distorted. You when you attempt to move in an direction, you will move in another one at random, Movement
Illusory: Replace with Vitality: Your combat stats are all slowly sapped, Sap >.>
