Re: Chat: Scape
I'm renaming Zach to Alaric, or Lark for short. I need a surname though. I don't want a pun-name, but he's the son of a White Knight-equivalent family... very high up the social ladder.
Re: Chat: Scape
Can surnames sound like they're high up the social ladder?

Re: Chat: Scape
I think so? I don't know. Some names don't sound right. I need a name, was more the point. I don't think I like Alaric anymore, but I don't think Zach sounds right.
Re: Chat: Scape
I imagine him being the kinda guy that shortens his name because his full name sounds stupidly posh and is also awful. Alaric works but it's almost too short and not awful enough.

Re: Chat: Scape
I think you've described it perfectly... but I can't think of any good ones that my brain aren't just ignoring. The shortened version has to be cool though.
Re: Chat: Scape
Make his surname von-Something. I don't know why but that always makes people seem posh...

Re: Chat: Scape
They are classified as extinct because no-one knows they have survived.
The Protheans in Mass Effect are classified as extinct, yes (SPOILERS) you can have one as a crew member.

Re: Chat: Scape
Why the sadface? I can remove it if you want, but I don't understand why. They are for all intensive purposes extinct. They haven't been seen for 600 years...
I can't decided which out of Crin and Brand to make shy and reserved, and the jester/he's-good-and-he knows it.

Re: Chat: Scape
Well, if I understand it correctly, the remaining ANtare are in a fallout-esque shelter, and those are incredibly big, like the size of New York or something like that, am I right? Because, if I am, there are still qute some of htem left. ANd it's the sad face because htere are no "I accept it but I don't like it" face

Re: Chat: Scape
Which part in particular don't you like... while New York-size is a lot bigger than envisioned, if that's how you envisioned it then how aren't there enough of them for you to do what you wanted with them?
Re: Chat: Scape
It's not that I don't like the changes made, I am sure they'd work, but I had a different vision of how the survivors would act, and were they'd live, also, I said new york sized because I have never played Fallout, so I don't know hte actual sice of the shelters there

Re: Chat: Scape
I've only briefly played Fallout, It's however big it was required to be.
In City of Ember (I really hope I'm quoting the right film name, there are two which I get confused) it's a city no larger than a small town. It's been so many generations since before the incident that they believe "the Architects" built the city for them, and they've become an almost god-like figure; they live in a very alien society (to anything I know existing) that is resource-driven and... well, communist, I think. Everyone's job is equally important and everyone's job is randomly assigned (although it seems you can swap).
In Mass Effect the Protheans created an entire planet to be a fallout shelter (SPOILERS) although only a single pod survived. (I'm not saying Fallout shelters have to use cryogenics/stasis, this one just did).

Re: Chat: Scape
Ahh ok. Also, my original idea for the Antare survivors was that they were digging the remmants of their EMpire to look for ways to restore it.

Pregame takes place 12 years before the events of the game. They are a child when you meet them, then they are not.
Re: Chat: Scape
Just checking. They could've like, grown as you gained more quest points or something

Is it just me, or are Brand, Lark and Elise just begging to have a love triangle?

Re: Chat: Scape
Are you not seeing it?
Anyway, I wanted to get the go-ahead to write articles on several major races in the game. If you remember a while ago I was saying how we should try and steer away from stereotypes of fantasy MMOs and make characteristics of certain races a little more original? I still want to do that.
I was going to work on the following:
Goblins
Dwarves
Ents
Demons
Mer(maids/men/people)
A few totally new, made up races
Any objections?

Re: Chat: Scape
Oh, you said begging. I read it as "beginning"... XD
You're reusing old races but not making them conventional? I don't mind any which way, but just making sure I've got you right.
Maybe steer away from Demons for a little while, but go ahead on the rest.

Re: Chat: Scape
Whoever wrote the Saurian should probably have a look at the Mer so we can collaborate on making the two sufficiently different...

Re: Chat: Scape
Tomorrow's to-do list:
-Flesh out Ents, Dwarves and Xayid
-Create a category for cities and write articles for Dawn, Fawkes, Lavenski, The Complex, The Glass City and any other settlements that are either needed or who's existence has been implied and I will need help with this
-Have a nice long chat about mechanics and get the page filled in
-Make minor tweaks to Graaft so that they match Scape rather than Runescape
Should be a nice lazy day then...
PS: Dusk, I'll check spelling and grammar for you
