The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
First topic message reminder :
Alright, I posted the seventh quest in the series! However, due to my time constraints, I'm only posting the first quest here; every other quest is on our wiki page.
~~~~~
In a land called the Azzain Peninsula, a dictatorship rules a large and prosperous city named Azzan. Now this dictatorship subjugates its pawns, exiles heretics or anyone deemed to cause political instability, and imports unsuspecting newcomers to be brainwashed into their new society. …
Luckily inside Axar, a city just south of Azzan and is made up of those exiled citizens, hides a resistance known as the Zarr Clan. This resistance is a group of honest Axarians who know what the Priests are doing and they need the help of an outsider to launch one of the most daring feats in Runescape's history: end the tyranny the Priests bring upon their world.
This series is fun, dramatic, and violent: a perfect mix of ingredients for a gripping political drama…all in these nine challenging quests. Of course the first quest is easiest, being only novice, but each successive quest will get harder, with the last three (3) quests being grandmaster.
So, are you up for the challenge?
Re: The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
Just to update you as to where I am. I've just read the summaries of the first 4 quests, and will re-read them later tonight (there are a lot of twists and turns, after all)
Tomorrow, then, I'll be reading through quest 5. I may write my review as I go, or I may write it later, in which case you'll be waiting longer (sorry about that).
Question: Would you like the review to be here or on the RSOF?
Thanks for reading my idea.
RSOF. It needs as much attention as possible.
And my review is posted. Enjoy
By the way, I'll probably forget to check back there for a response, so if you wanna say anything about it, either tell me to go to the RSOF through here, or tell me here.
Re: The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
I might start writing the first half of quest 6...you don't need Azzain Magic until the last quarter...
Here is the description I made of "On the Eve" :
Here is the description I made of "On the Eve" :
- Spoiler:
- The message of the Priests is clear: destroy the clan. The Azzain Rituality must be taken before harm can be dealt whether Jaick is there or not.
What sort of secrets can be revealed with this magical book, and what treasures it may give you?
Since the Azzain Rituality is considered by the Priests to be their most precious object, retrieving this tome will not be easy and will begin the long awaited Rebellion.
Jesus, do we need Azzain Magic sorted before I can read quest 6? Just tell me what I can do to speed things up...
Re: The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
Of course...well before I start the final quarter of the quest. It is very much necessary to make the spells. The quest will simultaneously fuction as a tutorial to the spells and also function as a part of the rebellion. What I don't know is when to pick up creating the spellbook because the combat update might make everything we've done null and void.
EDIT: Of course that is a function of the old plot and I can easily eliminate the tutorial/strength test with a much better one than its current state.
Re: The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
That is a bummer, really. The Combat Update could very well screw up some of my work too.
Still, if you start now on the quest writing, by the time we start knowing about the Combat Update (I think the beta opens late June), you'll probably be just about at the point where you need to know. The timings should work...
Re: The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
good point and it will force me to slow down. I tend to rush when I write quests. I can write a quest walk-through out in a week or two...so yeah...no more rushed crap like the cloak in quest 4.
I think I got the first 3 steps done. out of like 80.
Re: The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
the rough draft is done. it is insanely challenging and fun with puzzles designed to make you think, tear your hair out, or kill you in seconds if you're not paying attention; all topped off with captivating drama.
Re: The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
Man.... I have a lot of rewriting for the next three quests. The plots will be completely scrapped and will become something friggin' awesome.
No more blowing up buildings for sure. The Cave of Sand's deep chambers (chambers four through ten)? Sliced in half. So much more shall be changed.
So much more meaningful plot put instead.
Re: The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
Gutting Axar 7... Wow. There is so much filler and such a lack of plot. The Zarr Clan is also acting too defensively when they need to be attacking...
Re: The Axarian Revolution [PROGRESS STOPPED FOR NOW]
hm...... I am making a poison for a quest and I can't tell you why, but it needs to be so strong it can kill a person in one hit. (of course you can't make this after the quest and can only be used only for this quest)
Its to assassinate a person...
Currently, the potion stands as this:
Vial, coconut milk, white nightshade (a plant that you grow in the quest; otherwise unavailable), and something else. Maybe a ground black dragon scale? or maybe cassava roots...they contain a weathy supply of cyanide...
