First topic message reminder :

It's time to get some sort of Project of the Month™️ back up and running! Wink

I've decided that it's about time I finish something, and by "I" I mean all of you! Tongue

Zoanthropy! I suggest you take a gander at the Archaeology thread, as that is the standard we should aim for! They general concept for our version of the commonly suggestion transformation skill is one that doesn't use potions, or pouches. Instead, you must capture spirits and allow them to posses you! But where we go in terms of creature is up to you guys! In World of Warcraft they have only a few beasts - bear-form, aqua-form, cat-form, etc. It's not like summoning with a big list. A thread on the forums has something similar, he has very few types of beast, and instead has it that levelling unlocks further abilities with a small selection of creatures. The two methods each have their pros and cons, few creatures mean players can easily pick out favourites and develop good tactics - a Summoning-style system means there is lots of variety, but usually the higher-levelled ones are better meaning all the earlier levels are almost wasted. I vote for a handful of creatures, but that's just me. Smile

Oh, and is anyone good at drawing simple?

More monsters = more fun!

But we can use existing monsters that don't overlap... I don't know why, but I don't want them too

Lol, that's all the fun forms! Tongue

And I didn't mean we couldn't have new animals... but I'd prefer to take the form of real animals, rather than random creations. Of course, Agerdomus is large, there is plenty of room for a few... but we don't want all the numen-collection to take place in one place. Since Agerdomus will include the largest underwater area, I was think of a few more aquatic forms - dugong would be nice, as well as the Dual-Finned Mahryn (the underwater version of the Graak, Khytt and Larupia)! Umm... bears? Big cats? Insects? Birds? Those are not only very general, but I don't think there's a reason we can't use them.

The reason I said those is there's no 'Spirit Big Cat', but there is a spirit wolf.

Wow, just forget I ever said anything, I don't really care, I just don't want them to totally overlap.

I see where you're coming from, but some of the things in Summoning are too ideal to not use. There's a bear familiar, spirit Larupia, Graahk and Khytts, Spirit Kalphite, Spirit Wolf, etc. It would be very limiting not to use those. I agree not to use any only-summoning creatures - but things like the Wolf, Bear, Larupia, etc, are all in the game in other mediums (ie, the flesh). Tongue

Flesh wound? That sounds more like a flesh wound! Wink

There's an achievement on Arcanists called "It's only a flesh wound!"... you have to win a game with 1hp to get it. I gots it! Although, technically I didn't win with 1hp cause I was in a tower so it was more like 71. Tongue

Wouldn't you need to add some Red Pandas to the game? If I understand your concept of the skill.

Is xplod33 "s MORPHING skill too much like this idea, or is it unique enough to be its own skill.

I do believe that it is possible to have Zoanthropy, Shape-Shifting,
and Morphing skills in RuneScape all at the same time without them
being reduntant of each other if they are all properly fleshed out.

I see it like this Zoanthropy is where you let spirits take over your
body for the boosts with the transformations being more of a side
effect. With Shape-Shifting, you are changing to various shapes
and forms where changes to what you can do are only what is needed for
your new shape/form to work in the area logically according to the
area's logic. For example, simply taking on the form of a dragon
won't give you any dragon powers in most area and in areas that they
may, it is highly likely you will get flight in an oversize package
only. With Morphing, you are taking on other's power sets
tempertary with only minimal skeletal changes done in the time frame to
have the power set(s) work right.

And I would say that bonuses from 1 skill shouldn't be able to stack
with bonuses from the same skill, however, bonuses from 1 skill should
be able to stack with the bonuses from the other skills. While
all drawbacks should stack even in the same skill.

It would be like how Jackie Chan Adventures made it clear that
Immorality and Healing are actually distint from 1 another rather than
the same thing as they like to be to the causial viewer.

Healing and Immortality...duh those are distinct...admittedly someone like the X-men's Wolverine has insane healing powers...that doesn't mean he's immortal...immortal means that dismemberment...being tossed into a pit of spikes...disembowlment...all have NO effect on your well being...although tehy may be painful
