The Interactive Suggestion
First topic message reminder :
1) Combat panel, see Interactive Combat.
2) Magician's spellbook
3) Wizard's spellbook
4) Archery skill
5) Sorcery skill
6) Divination skill
7) Zoanthropy skill
8) Marksmanship skill
9) Mana skill
10) Demonology skill
11) Wizardry skill
12) Conjuring skill, see Conjuring.
13) Archaeology skill, see Archaeology
14) Combat level
15) Mysticism level
16) Skills panel
The existing Magic skill would be divided into three skills; Sorcery, Mana and Wizardry. All three's names aren't concrete.
Magic and Mana are doppelgängers of Attack and Strength along with Archery and Marksmanship: one is accuracy and the other is damage (only Archery and Marksmanship are the other way around). Mana is NOT a mana-bar, merely a power stat (mana was chosen because it means force/power of magic, thus is suited a strength-like skill). Wizardry is a non-combat skill, containing non-combat spells.
The Sorcerer's Spellbook contains all the combat spells, including curses and binds. The Wizard's Spellbook contains all the non-combat spells, including enchantment and teleportation.
When you switch to Ancient Magicks it replaces the Magician's Spellbook and when you switch to Lunar Magics it replaces the Wizard's Spellbook. This excludes teleportation spells which are handled differently. By default, you will have the Wizard's Teleports. When you switch to Ancient or Lunar--or back from--the change will be automatic. However, when you change between Ancient and Lunar you will be asked if: "Do you wish to keep existing teleports?". Alternatively, the new spellbooks could NOT replace the previous spellbook; rather just being additional spells (given each spellbook will look rather empty now it's been cut in two).

Re: The Interactive Suggestion
Like it, but you may want to simplify Interactive Combat, just a may. The Personal Effects Tab is genius! People can see what their special equipment is doing. (FYW, The Ammulet of Strength just provides Strength stats.)
Also, Ranged and Magic or Umbrella Skills, like Melee: rename Ranged for something doing with Ranged Strength. Marksmanship is perfect for Ranged Attack. Mana is fine for Magic Strength, but we need something for Magic Attack.

Re: The Interactive Suggestion
Updated again. The Defence and Prayer icons now have information.
> Like it, but you may want to simplify Interactive Combat, just a may.
You can try.
> The Personal Effects Tab is genius! People can see what their special equipment is doing.
Shucks.
> (FYW, The Ammulet of Strength just provides Strength stats.)
I know, the information mentions the the Amulet of Strength currently doesn't.
> Also, Ranged and Magic or Umbrella Skills, like Melee... but we need something for Magic Attack.
So you think the names shouldn't have Ranged, Magic or Melee in them? Dexterity and Marksmanship? And, Sorcery and Mana?

Re: The Interactive Suggestion
Those names are perfect! Sorcery's logo could be the Wand, Mana's logo could be an aura or something. Marksmanship can use the existing logo for Ranged, Dexterity (which could be better) could be the arrow with lines. The Apple is no longer needed to show accuracy: Marksmanship shows the means for attack with Range.

Interactive RuneScape Idea by ~3mptylord on deviantART
Haha, thanks Zect. Yup, it's been updated AGAIN!
Hand, I've altered the names of the skills... among other things that were changed.
Re: The Interactive Suggestion
I still think that ALL spells should be seen in the same interface for the sake of consistancy (a Spellbook is a group - a book - of spells, so all the spells should stay together.)
Marksmanship feels like an Attack skill and Archery only refers to bows. I still think the Ranged Strength (currently Marksmanship) logo should show power, not accuracy. Sorcery's logo needs to be updated.
Although Force and Flash Runes look fine, Geist and Shadow's logos are too...fanciful. Moreover, Shadow Runes would cause confusion, as there are Shadow Spells.
Ooh, Agility in Combat! I still have my thread, if you want it.

Re: The Interactive Suggestion
Updated again...
• All items now have icons courtesy of Zect. Click on the Font!
• The spell panels have been updated, but not (yet) combined.
• I've included more information on the agility suggestion, although it's hardly adequate.
• Corrected lots of typos on the prayer books panel.
Probably some other little fixes.
*grins proudly*
I know, Dark does too. But it looks so pretty now. I'll think about it...but you could argue that the Sorcery panel is an extension of the combat panel, rather than the spellbook panel - given it's Magic's attacks. Edit: I'm not going to defend my decision because the only reason is graphical... so ignore that last bit.
>Marksmanship feels like an Attack skill and Archery only refers to bows. I still think the Ranged Strength (currently Marksmanship) logo should show power, not accuracy. Sorcery's logo needs to be updated.
Archery/Marksmanship are synonyms aren't they? Feel free to suggest an alternative. And yes, Sorcery's does. Zect—*snaps fingers*—care to draw a wand as a skill logo? Perhaps with some sparks coming out the tip.
>Although Force and Flash Runes look fine, Geist and Shadow's logos are too...fanciful.
Sentimental... I've had those since my Evil Dave suggestion AGES ago, reusing them for pretty much every suggestion I make. Feel free to propose alternates.
>Moreover, Shadow Runes would cause confusion, as there are Shadow Spells.
They could be required to cast shadow spells, much like blood runes (another catalyst rune) is used as an element.
>Ooh, Agility in Combat! I still have my thread, if you want it.
You can post it on here, I'll see if there's anything to refine/add to the interactive.

Re: The Interactive Suggestion
Archery only refers to bows, Marksmanship refers to Ranged Attack in general, but we're reusing the current logo. The only word for Ranged Strength that comes to mind is Draw or Recoil, but those aren't too good.
I only have a problem with the Shadow Rune, as using it for Conjuring would confuse many, especially with the Staff of Light. How about Quintessence Runes?

I think it's a bit too thin (so it can be shaded) and the sparkles should be bigger and surround the wand.

Love the Smithing update.
Corruption could be changed to Heresy, the opposite of Piety.

Re: The Interactive Suggestion
71, 81 and 91?
Possibly new hides, I haven't thought of a ranged update yet.
Definitely add three new trees, though.
Perhaps Ranged could be given multiple treatments for existing hides... light, heavy and spiked. Perhaps? *shrugs*

light = shortbow, heavy = longbow, spiked = crossbow?

Re: The Interactive Suggestion
I don't like how Ranged gear is Crafted from drops, it doesn't make for a nice Production Tree. If we keep this pattern, we could use Manticore Hide, or something.

Re: The Interactive Suggestion
The New Ranged Armor throws off a lot, Black D'Hide at L80? I feel like Light and Heavy Armor should be at the same level: one isn't necessarily better than the other.

Re: The Interactive Suggestion
Despite it's level 85, and not 80. You could be right, the armours could be condensed. But I was trying to take the skill above 90... to match Conjuring and Smithing. Short of adding new dragons, a slight level-change isn't that bad. I did say players would be compensated with appropriately levelled armour.
